Evaluated from HVAC industry experience — not personally run day-to-day
Pros
- A dispatch board that shows every tech's schedule in one place directly answers the 'managing people and dispatch' problem — dispatch turns into a guessing game almost always because there's no single shared, visible schedule, not because the person running it is bad at their job.
- Required job notes/photos on the mobile app matter more than they sound like they should. Inconsistent note-taking is rarely about technicians being careless — it's about there being no structure forcing consistent documentation. A form beats a blank notes field every time.
- The client hub/self-serve booking feature cuts down the back-and-forth that eats into dispatch time before a job is even scheduled.
Cons
- Software can make a form exist, but it can't make a tech fill it out thoughtfully. If inconsistent notes were partly a training or accountability problem on top of a tooling problem, this doesn't fix that half on its own.
- I haven't run this day-to-day myself — the real test is whether techs actually adopt the mobile workflow in practice, not whether the feature exists on paper. Worth confirming with a trial before treating this as settled.
If dispatch chaos and inconsistent field notes are costing you the way they cost the shops I worked with, Jobber's dispatch board and mobile job forms are built for exactly that problem — but adoption (will techs actually use it) matters more than the feature list.
