QuoteIQ for Quoting & Estimating
Estimating is where we spent most of our actual office-side frustration — and it's the category where who's writing the quote still shouldn't change what the customer gets charged. Here's what QuoteIQ actually offers on that front, beyond the AI estimator covered on the AI tools page.
Standard, Options, and Package Estimates
Three distinct estimate formats: a single-price standard quote, a good/better/ best "options" quote letting the customer pick a tier, and a bundled "package" quote for grouped services. The options format in particular is worth paying attention to — presenting three price points instead of one is a well-documented way to raise average ticket size, and it's a structural fix for a specific version of the inconsistency problem: instead of one estimator deciding whether to offer a premium option at all, the tiered format is baked into the template every time.
E-Signatures
Digital signing built into the estimate/contract flow. Not flashy, but it closes a real gap — a signed estimate sitting in a customer's inbox instead of a paper copy that gets lost on a truck dashboard is fewer disputes about what was actually agreed to later.
InstaQuote
Lets a customer build and price their own estimate against your price book, without a tech or estimator involved — meant for QR-code-on-a-truck or website-embedded self-service quoting. For straightforward, well-defined jobs this can filter out tire-kickers before anyone's time gets spent; for anything that needs a real inspection first (most HVAC replacement work), it's a worse fit, since a self-service price book can't account for what's actually behind the wall.
Pipelines & Deals
Visual deal tracking across stages, with revenue forecasting. This is more of a sales-management layer than an estimating fix — useful once a shop has enough simultaneous quotes in flight that someone needs a view of where they all stand, less relevant for a true one-truck operation where the owner already knows exactly which 3 quotes are outstanding.
