QuoteIQ's AI Tools, Explained
"AI-powered" gets slapped on every piece of software marketing right now, so it's worth being specific about what's actually here. QuoteIQ has six distinct AI features, not one blurry catch-all — some of them go straight at real estimating and dispatch problems, and some of them are closer to nice-to-have polish. Here's the honest breakdown of each.
MapMeasure Pro
This is the one I'd actually pay attention to first. It measures a property from satellite imagery — roof area and pitch, lot size, driveway square footage — in under 5 seconds from just an address, and feeds those numbers straight into a price book estimate. That goes directly at a real estimating failure mode: an estimator eyeballing a property and getting the numbers wrong, or skipping a measurement step entirely because a job feels routine. QuoteIQ claims roof measurements land within about 2% of a tape measure and lot perimeters within about 3% — that's their number, not something we've independently verified, and satellite imagery has an obvious blind spot: it can't see obstructions, additions, or anything a tree is currently covering. Worth testing against a property you already know the real numbers for before trusting it on a job that matters.
AI Estimator
Takes those measurements (or photos from the field) and turns them into a priced, itemized estimate using your own price book, in under a minute. This is the same point we made in our main review: it shifts the estimating- inconsistency problem from "did the estimator remember every line item" to "did the AI correctly read the job and apply the right prices" — a different failure mode, not a guaranteed fix. A second set of eyes on the first few estimates it generates isn't a bad habit to keep.
AI Autopilot
A chat/voice interface that runs the CRM on command — "move today's jobs to Friday and notify everyone," that kind of thing. It previews the action and waits for a one-tap confirmation before actually doing anything, which is the right call for a tool that can reschedule jobs or send money. Worth noting this is less a dispatch fix and more a faster-typing fix — it speeds up doing the thing you'd already do, it doesn't replace having a real schedule a whole crew can see.
AI Call Team
An AI phone line that answers inbound calls 24/7 (qualifying the lead, booking straight onto your calendar) and can also run outbound calls to past customers for renewals or re-engagement. QuoteIQ cites third-party research (originally from Invoca, via their own marketing) that home service businesses lose about 27% of inbound calls — that statistic isn't something we checked ourselves, but the underlying problem is real and familiar: you can't answer the phone with your hands full under a unit on a roof, and every missed call is a customer who often just calls the next name on the list. This is the kind of feature that's worth an honest trial, since "does it sound robotic enough to annoy people" is a real, testable concern, not a hypothetical one.
AI Image Generator
Renders a mockup of finished work — new siding color, a replaced roof, landscaping — attached directly to the estimate. Worth being clear about what this actually is: it's a sales/closing tool, not an estimating-accuracy tool. It doesn't make a quote more correct, it makes a quote more persuasive. That's a legitimate thing to want, just a different thing than what MapMeasure Pro or AI Estimator are solving.
AI Text Generator
Drafts customer-facing texts and emails — quote follow-ups, "running late" notices, review requests — in a voice it learns from messages you've already sent. The least dramatic of the six, but genuinely useful for a one-person office trying to sound consistent and professional across dozens of conversations instead of dashing off a one-line text between jobs.
